common questions
How do I let HM GUI see a folder? In the browser, choose Add Folder… and pick it. Pictures and Downloads are available from the start. HM GUI remembers the folders you add.
Where are my ratings and develop settings saved? In small .xmp files next to your photos. Other photo apps can read your ratings and color labels; develop settings are HM GUI's own. Your photos themselves are never changed.
Does HM GUI upload my photos? No. The app has no network access at all, and everything runs on your Mac. See the privacy policy.
Where are the keyboard shortcuts? Choose Help ▸ Keyboard Shortcuts, or press ⌘/.
What do I need? macOS 14 or later, on a Mac with Apple silicon or an Intel processor.
How do I get a refund? Purchases are made through the Mac App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
